Basmat Amal – A Wishful Smile
“A Wishful Smile” began as a personal journey of filmmaker Mirna Nassar to reconnect with the country and culture of her upbringing. Focusing on the bombing of Qana in southern Lebanon and the personal stories of two of the residents of the village, of their loss, and of their struggle to make sense of what has happened to them. “A Wishful Smile” captures the raw experience of Lebanon, its feel and beauty set against a backdrop of conflict and turmoil.
