Interview with John Rodstead
Introduced by Dr. Phillip George, John Rodsted is a campaigner against the use of landmines and cluster bombs and is a group recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in this area. Interviewed for the documentary – The Resilient Landscape, John’s photographs and diary extracts were featured in the exhibition of the same name.
The documentary commissioned by the College of Fine Arts, UNSW and the Centre for Contemporary Arts and Politics, about an exhibition of the same name held at the Ivan Dougherty Gallery in 2007. Featuring artworks by Lebanese and Australian artists created in response to the invasion of Lebanon in 2006. Through interviews with the curators, artists, journalists and activists, the documentary explores the notions of cultural identity, border conflict and the impact of war on the lives of everyday Lebanese both in Australia and oversees.
